Perry catamarans introduces infusion production technology

These are the benefits coming to the entire Perry range of luxury vessels with the introduction of the technologically advanced and environmentally friendly infusion production technique. 

It´s all part of the Perry plan to remain among industry leaders in all facets of boat building, especially when it comes to quality and structural integrity. 

The first hulls to be constructed using infusion were recently completed at Perry´s Australian facility, and within two years the entire Perry range will be built using the technique. 

"Infusion creates a better quality product," explained Perry´s technology manager, Peter Schwartzel. "The vacuum process means there are no air bubbles in the laminate and less resin is required to give greater strength and less weight. It also becomes a very consistent product whereas using current methods; if you have two people spray-gunning different parts of a component then chances are you will get different results. 

"The process is also far more environmentally and user friendly because there is no longer a need for anyone to handle wet resin, and there are no styrene fumes or resin over-spray in the air."
