| As part of this sponsorship, Hunter will provide boats at the in-water shows along with experienced captains to sail them. Models used for this purpose usually include the Hunter 216, 38 or 41.
"We support the growth of the sailing industry, and our goal is a positive first experience for sailing prospects that leads them into sailing," said John Peterson, director of sales and marketing for Hunter Marine.
Sail America, the US national trade association for sailing, produces the Strictly Sail shows across the US each year to promote sailing and to reach out to newcomers to grow the sailing market.
"Reaching out to the public through non-traditional venues and unique experiences like sailing demonstrations is making a positive impact on the growth of our industry," said Peterson. "We are proud to be part of such a successful programme and look forward to the chance to take a lot of new prospects sailing in 2006."
Hunter Marine is part of the Luhrs Marine Group, and is an employee ownership company. With facilities in the US and Portland, UK, Hunter Marine distributes sailboats from 2.7m-14m (9ft-46ft) in more than 46 countries throughout the world. |
