| The ownership of the attractive boat builder in Haderslev remains
unchanged.
"We have considered a partial sale of stocks since last year, when one of our owners, Birger Hansen, expressed a wish to gradually retire. During our negotiations with a potential international partner, it was not possible to reach an agreement on their terms and conditions. At the same time, we have considered that a completion of a sale now would weaken X-Yachts in its future development. The company's future strength was especially important to us in our consideration of a possible partial sale of shares. We have therefore decided to continue running X-Yachts in its present form, and Birger Hansen continues as co-owner," says Managing Director, Lars Jeppesen.
Last year was another record year for X-Yachts in respect of turnover and numbers in the order book. The turnover of 2007 reached 370 mio. DKK and the order book has increased considerably, with deliveries until 2009. At the same time, X-Yachts is extremely well consolidated. Thus the company´s future is positive, in spite of the present global deceleration of the world economy.
"We have a high-quality product, which is much in demand; and have several new and exciting boat models coming in the near future, for example the all new Xcruising line, designed for the demanding and luxury accustomed long distance sailors. Furthermore, we have many new activities in the pipeline, which we are looking forward to realizing in cooperation with our skilled employees," concludes the Managing Director.
Now that the plans for a partial takeover no longer exist, the company will continue to focus on its essential parts: development, production and sales of cruising, performance cruising and racing yachts. |
