| ... latest technologies and materials, this fast and luxurious performance cruiser is a testament to innovation and intelligent applications.
Modern methods
The Contest 60CS was designed by Georg Nissen, who was challenged to draw a modern and fast sailing yacht, without compromising on the typical Contest characteristics and legendary onboard comfort. The models serving as the foundation for the construction of the moulds are all CNC milled, resulting in exceptional dimensional accuracy and symmetry. Vinylester resin was used for the hull and deck, making the laminate stronger and lighter. Naturally, the yacht was also built using Contest´s renowned vacuum injection method.
Elegant lines
The elegant lines of the Contest 60CS are extenuated by the spacious, clean deck and superbly integrated superstructure. With two steering positions and a large social cockpit, both sailing and living comfort have been well catered for. The intelligent rigging, with a small genoa and a larger mainsail, in combination with a balance rudder, means the yacht is easy to sail. The large amount of storage space on deck makes the 60CS very well suited for long distances. It is also possible to stow a tender below deck.
Practical gadgets
Both the hydraulic passerelle and the lazarette door can be easily folded in and out by means of a single remote control. LED navigation lighting and spreader lights offer considerable energy savings. A practical and space-saving detail below deck is the retractable television screen.
Another remarkable feature is the panes of the saloon windows. The windows were made of curved and chemically hardened Ultra Resistant Glass (URG) with two PVB films and one solar layer in between. This results in an exceptional degree of scratch resistance and 99.8 percent UV protection.
Various interior options
In cooperation with Birgit Schnaase, the yard developed a selection of interior designs that allow owners to choose a style that suits them best. This makes the 60CS suitable for both family sailing and for an owner with a professional crew. The modern, light and stylish atmosphere for which all Contests are famed is again repeated in the 60CS.
Dream debut
The Contest 60CS has experienced a flying start, with the first of the range being launched in early March and the six other 60CS yachts sold purely from design at various stages of construction. "Everything went very quickly from the moment we announced the design of the Contest 60CS," director Arjen Conijn explains. "We obviously struck a chord with people looking for a fast and luxurious performance cruiser.
"People are attracted by the elegant lines of the design, the spacious clean deck and the beautifully integrated superstructure. And our yachts have established a very good reputation over recent years in terms of their performance. This synergy of fine looks and great sailing attracted clients from Europe, America and Russia, ensuring a dream debut for the Contest 60CS."
