| Designed with inter-island cruising in mind, here is a boat capable of sailing at twenty knots, can anchor in two feet of water, sleep four adults and a couple of kids. It offers style, quality and convenience in an affordable package.
The open air living area is covered by a walkway that provides easy access to the boom. From this walkway, canvas sides can be fitted to close off the area and keep the cold and mosquitoes at bay.
Two daybeds provide ample space for lounging at the aft end of the cockpit and are great for sleeping on deck in the warmer climates. Half the daybeds can flip upright to turn into comfortable backrests, while still leaving enough room for traffic behind. The table consists of a centre console with a massive 160 L built-in cooler box. (Fridge optional) The fold down table top offers easy access to the back of the cockpit.
The design
Designed for the ultimate combination of fast sailing in total easy and comfort. The interior lay-out allows even a tailor-made approach next to the standard two interior lay-outs.
The G-Force Jaz 37 combines the speed of a racing monohull with the comfort of a luxury cruising monohull and this all with the space of a 50 foot monohull ! The G-Force Jaz 37 is the ultimate all in one yacht, whether used for Island hopping with family and friends or an ocean crossing. It all is possible with impressive performance, single-handed and with all required comfort !
The controls
The boat is wheel steered from the front end of the cockpit, just behind the mast, and ALL sail controls are led to two winches near at the helm. This means that sailing will not interfere with those who wish to relax in the living area. Great for family cruising or charter work.
The rig is a single spreader/double diamond configuration and is built from anodised aluminium. Halyard and sheet clutches are mounted near the mast base to put them within easy reach of the helmsman. Reef line controls are situated on the underside of the boom, right above the helm station.
Central to the high performance sailing characteristics are the high performance carbon fibre foils. The lift-up dagger boards are curved, asymmetrical boards are situated outboard and provide high lift while they do not interfere with the interior space. The rudders, in cassettes, can be raised completely, allowing this boat to be beached.
Accomadations
There are various layout options available for this boat. The Jaz 37 allows also "tailor made" accommodation throughout the total concept !
The "Galley-up" Version :
This is the original Island Hopper layout with the central galley module just behind the helmsman. This facilitates a total open air lifestyle very well suited for cruising around tropical climates. Soft windows or mosquito nets slide into a boltrope track along the edge of the hard top bimini. This allows the living area to be closed off from the elements should the need arise. This option can be combined with various interior layout arrangements, ranging from a twin heads/shower layout, to a three double bunk layout or a twin double with one heads / shower and a navdesk/office aft.
The "En-Suite" Version :
This layout consists of two double bunks forward with twin shower/heads cubicles at the forward end of the cabins. Spacious compartments under the bunks cater for storage of personal items. LED lights and a recessed book shelve near the bunks complete the sleeping quarters. Forward of the sleeping quarters is the heads / shower compartment. A hand basin and a shaving cabinet with mirror, together with a Lavac toilet and a 100 L holding tank ensures comfortable coastal cruising. On the inboard side is a built-in escape hatch. The navigation station/office is situated port aft. A huge chart table provides plenty of space for laptops and other personal items, while the bench offers sufficient space for two people to sit. The navigation area can be substituted by a large single bunk. Starboard aft you will find the galley equipped with a two burner gas hob and a stainless steel sink.
Construction & performance
Construction of the boat is in vacuum laminated E-glass/Epoxy and PVC foam core with strategic carbon reinforcing along the main bulkheads and stringers. Only high quality materials are used in the construction of this unique and versatile sailing craft.
In up to 10 knots of breeze the boat easily sails at or above true windspeed, upwind and down. The boat very easily achieves sustained speeds in excess of 16 knots with the highest speed to date recorded at 27 knots. Apart from the speed aspect, the boat is able to tack through 90 degrees, which allows it to sail upwind like a modern racing monohull.
