| Established in 1955, the Red Dot awards committee is currently comprised of 36 independent design experts from all parts of the globe. In 2011 they analysed a total of 4,433 products from 60 different nations. Key jury assessment criteria include: degree of design innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and iconological soundness.
 Ronstan’s Core Block design was chosen as this year’s Red Dot winner in the Leisure, Outdoor and Sport category. Past Red Dot award winners in this category include Adidas, Puma and Neil Pride.
Designed as an attractive and affordable sailing block option, Core Blocks™ are ideal for sheet blocks on cruisers or racing cruisers and are also a good choice for high static load applications like halyards and backstays. They are available in two sizes: Series 60 (2 3/8”) and Series 75 (3”), generally suitable for boats up to 14m (46 feet) depending on the application. Alloy sheave models are available for use with wire cables.
