|  Bernard Stamm, on Cheminées Poujalat, enjoys his second victory on this race which is « a real ping-pong with his nerves ». In fact, there are three legs : one from Bilbao (Spain) to Fremantle (Australia), another from Fremantle to Norfolk (USA) and finally, from Norfolk to Bilbao. Even if the pressure put by Kojiro Shiraishi during the last leg was strong, the Swiss crossed the finishing line on Monday 30th April at 5h13 PM. During the whole race the Swiss was the winner, so that, like Philippe Jeantot and Christophe Auguin before him, it is the second time he wins this competition, after his first victory in 2002-2003.
The Japanese Kojiro Shiraishi on Spirit of Yukoh, ends up in second place in this race, so that this is a very successful first experience with nke.
The British Sir Robin Knox-Johnston on Saga Insurance is for the moment in third position in the race.
