| What's more, the company has also stated that it is to offer several new layout options on the 14m (46ft) boat, including a double-bedded state cabin as an alternative to the existing V-berth, additional cockpit arrangements and more. The first of these new boats are expected to launch early next year.
"The Endeavour 42 was developed at Camper & Nicholson's Gosport yard with three prototype yachts being constructed as the design was perfected," says the company. "The Nautor Group's yard in Pietarsaari, an acknowledged centre of yacht building excellence that also produces the Swan range of sailing yachts, was the clear choice for final production of the Endeavour 42, both with regard to its technical capabilities and its ability to maintain the attention to detail and quality for which Camper & Nicholsons has been famous since 1782."
The Endeavour 42 will have its own dedicated building hall, and each yacht will be individually built on a semi-custom basis. It is thought that around seven Endeavour 42s will be delivered per year once full capacity is reached. According to a company press release, C&N's Gosport yard will continue to house the company's design, project management and engineering divisions as well as its archives. It will, however, cease to offer refit, repair and restoration services, allowing the company to refocus on its original core business of building new yachts. |
