| The Tresco yard, managed by Philippe Cabon, will allow Alliaura Marine to penetrate the motorboat market with a range of ships from 11.5ft to 59.4ft (3.5m-18.1m).
As a result, it has introduced a new Tresco Line range of boats with an innovative design and a high performance hull. Currently there are three customisable models available from 7.5m to 9.5m (24.6ft-31.2ft), either with a GRP or carbonfibre hull, and featuring inboard hydro jets, Z-drive engines or outboard engines.
The acquisition will also enable Alliaura Marine to control and utilise new construction techniques, such as those used in the manufacture of carbonfibre hulls. Tresco Shipyard is well-known for its moulds- and composite products manufacturing, which it supplies to Alliaura Marine as well as other markets.
This multiple collaboration also includes Altrès Design, an engineering and naval architecture office acquired with Tresco. Its first projects will focus on two new models for Alliaura's Feeling range - the Feeling 51 and Feeling 55.
Alliaura Marine, based at Les Sables d'Olonne, employs 200 people. Around 70 per cent of its turnover is export-based. It has built more than 2,800 Privilège, Transcat and Feeling vessels over 20 years. |
